When I accepted the position to be a School of Media Arts & Designs student worker one of my main goals was to bring some short form style content i.e., Instagram reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts, to the Instagram page, which at the time was mostly just graphics. We made 6 total videos that included a wide variety of Interviews and challenges among staff and students that ended up garnering a lot of attention that semester. The video series can be found at on Instagram @jmusmad or at by clciking this link here.

Audrey Goldman and I drafted a proposal of a a series of Reels that would be posted on the School of Media Arts and Design account that would boost engagement of current followers while also increasing the outreach to people who don't follow the account. We wanted to highlight current SMAD students and faculty in lighthearted and humorous videos as we believed that when other students saw people thy knew they would be more likely like, comment and share.

We filmed on the XA75 provided to all SMAD students for projects and would film in or outside of Harrsion hall where the majority if SMAD classes are located. We would stop students as they came and would alternate between either being the filmer or interviewer. We wanted to make these videos engaging so we kept them fast paced and with sound eeffects pop up visuals and music. We edited through premire pro and also wanted to make them more accesible and easy to follow so we so we had captions.

After 6 videos we were able to drastically increase engagement through all forms of interaction. Check out these stats below!
